This page explains what Type to Study collects, why, and what you can do about it. If anything is unclear, write to [email protected].
What we collect
- Your account: email address, username and a hashed password. We never see or store your password itself.
- What you study: the topics you type, the files you upload, and the courses, progress, quiz and exam results made from them.
- Billing: your plan and subscription status. Card details are handled entirely by Stripe and never reach our servers.
- Usage: how much the AI features are used per account, to keep the service fair and affordable, and basic server logs for security.
How it's used
Only to run Type to Study: building and showing your courses, signing you in, sending the codes and account emails you ask for, billing, and preventing abuse. We don't sell your data, and we don't use your files to train AI models.
Who helps us run it
- AI providers (through OpenCode) process the text of your material to write lessons, grade answers and answer tutor questions.
- Stripe processes payments. Resend delivers our emails. Cloudflare protects and speeds up the website.
- Topic research sends search queries (not your files) to sources such as Wikipedia, OpenAlex, Open Library and GitHub.
Cookies
One essential cookie keeps you signed in, and one remembers whether the sidebar is open. No advertising or tracking cookies.
Your choices
You can delete any course and its files from your library at any time. To delete your whole account and everything in it, or to get a copy of your data, email [email protected] from your account's address and we'll do it within 30 days.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, we'll tell you by email before it takes effect.
