ACCA Study App: Revise for Computer-Based Exams with Flashcards and Typed Recall
ACCA is a global professional accounting qualification. Many of its exams are taken as computer-based exams (CBEs), where you may need to type answers into a spreadsheet or response area. Type to Study turns your study text into lessons and flashcards, and its typing focus suits the CBE format.
What ACCA involves
The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants sets the qualification. It has levels: Applied Knowledge (Business and Technology, Management Accounting, Financial Accounting), Applied Skills (such as Corporate and Business Law, Performance Management, Taxation, Financial Reporting, Audit and Assurance, Financial Management), and the Strategic Professional level with Strategic Business Leader, Strategic Business Reporting and options. The Applied Knowledge exams are objective tests, and later exams add longer written and calculation questions. Exams are mostly computer-based, with a response area where you type text and use a spreadsheet for calculations. Check the ACCA site for the current structure and exam availability.
Why it is hard and how to prepare
Passing rates on later papers are low, partly because candidates under-prepare for application. Knowing the standards is not enough: you must apply them to a scenario and write clear, structured answers under time. The most effective routine is to learn the content, then work through past exam questions and read the examiner's reports, which tell you what earns marks.
On computer, practise typing answers and using the spreadsheet. Slow typing costs marks in written papers. Use ACCA's CBE practice platform to learn the interface well before the exam.
A plan using Type to Study
Upload your study text or notes by paper. Use Type mode to retype definitions, standards and ratio formulae, which doubles as typing practice for the written answers. Use flashcards for rules in IFRS, tax and law, and Q&A to type model answers for scenario questions in a structure you can reproduce.
Test your baseline at /typing-test, and read /features/typing-for-computer-based-exams for the case for keyboard fluency. Type to Study does not include ACCA's questions or examiner's reports, and it does not replace the ACCA practice platform or a tuition provider's question kit.
