WAEC Study App: Revise WASSCE Subjects with Flashcards and Quizzes
WAEC is the West African Examinations Council, which sets the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) taken in Nigeria, Ghana and other member countries. Strong results depend on covering the syllabus and practising past questions. Type to Study turns your notes and textbooks into lessons, flashcards and quizzes for the content side.
What WAEC covers
The WASSCE is taken at the end of senior secondary school. Candidates sit English Language and Mathematics, which are widely required for further study, alongside subjects such as the sciences, commerce, arts and social sciences. Papers usually include objective (multiple-choice) questions and essay or theory questions, and some subjects include a practical or an alternative to practical. The WAEC syllabus for each subject lists what is examined. Details such as the school and private candidate arrangements, and in some countries computer-based testing, can change, so check the WAEC site.
Why it is hard and how to prepare
The common problems are not finishing the syllabus, not practising past questions, and weak exam technique in essay papers. Start with the syllabus for each subject and tick off each topic. Then work past questions by topic, mark them against the marking guide, and study the topics you lose marks on.
Use active recall, not rereading. Close the book, write what you remember, and check. Return to weak topics after a day, then a week. Give English and Mathematics extra time, since they matter for admissions.
A plan using Type to Study
Upload your class notes or textbook chapters, one subject at a time. Study each unit through Read mode, retype key definitions and processes in Type mode, and let flashcards schedule the terms. Use Q&A to type model answers for theory questions in Biology, Government or Economics until you can write them from memory.
A phone or computer with a browser is enough. Typing practice is best with a keyboard, but you can read lessons and review flashcards on a phone. Type to Study does not contain WAEC past questions, so use official past papers and your teacher's marking guides alongside it.
