GMAT Study App: Concepts, Rules and Typed Recall for Focus Edition Prep
The GMAT is the admissions test for many MBA and business master's programmes. It tests reasoning more than recall, so practice with real questions matters most. Type to Study covers the part you can learn: quant rules, grammar and logic concepts, and data interpretation techniques, from the books and notes you own.
What the GMAT covers
The GMAT is run by the Graduate Management Admission Council. The current GMAT Focus Edition has three sections: Quantitative Reasoning, Verbal Reasoning and Data Insights. The earlier version had an Analytical Writing Assessment and an Integrated Reasoning section, so older materials will not match the current format. It is computer-adaptive and available at test centres and online. Check mba.com for the current structure, timing and scoring.
What makes it hard and how to prepare
The adaptive format means the questions get harder when you do well, so you will always feel challenged. The skill is choosing which problems to spend time on and when to move on. Quant uses arithmetic, algebra and number properties in tricky ways. Verbal focuses on reading comprehension and critical reasoning. Data Insights mixes tables, graphs and multi-source reasoning.
Use official GMAC practice questions and exams as your core. Review every error by cause. Keep a short rule list, for example divisibility rules and common critical-reasoning flaw types, and review it with active recall.
A plan using Type to Study
Upload your notes from reviewed practice questions or a prep book chapter you own. Build a course around the rules you keep needing. Retype each rule and its worked example in Type mode, then let flashcards schedule them. Ask the AI tutor to quiz you one question at a time, or to explain a concept in simple terms.
Type to Study does not include official GMAT questions or its adaptive engine. Use it alongside the official guide and exam prep, with a timer and a plan for pacing. If an MBA programme asks for a written application essay, the typing practice also helps with drafting.
