An AI study tool for international students
Studying a degree in your second language means learning the content and the English it comes in at the same time. Type to Study helps you with both: it breaks material into clear lessons, drills the key terms, and has you write answers in your own words.
Learn the terms, then use them
Upload your lecture notes or course book, or type a topic. Key terms are highlighted and turned into flashcards. In Type mode you type over the lesson, which gives you repeated practice with spelling and phrasing of subject vocabulary, and the recall pass asks you to produce each term from memory.
Practise writing exam answers
Typed answers in quizzes and the final exam are graded by AI against key points, for meaning rather than exact wording. That means you are marked on whether you understood, and you see the model answer to learn how a strong answer is phrased.
Note that the app interface and lessons are in English only.
- AI tutor can explain a hard passage in simpler words
- Lessons from your files cite pages, so you can check the original wording
- Typing speed practice helps with computer-based exams
English tests
See our IELTS, TOEFL and PTE Academic pages. Type to Study helps with computer-based typing and academic vocabulary, but it does not assess your speaking or give official band scores, and it is not a replacement for a language course. Check each test's official site for the current format.
Our blog has study tips for international students, and the free typing test at /typing-test needs no account.
