An AI study tool for law students
Law exams ask you to recall rules precisely and then apply them under time pressure. Reading cases again does not train either skill. Type to Study gives you ways to retrieve rules from memory and to practise writing structured answers.
Learn the rules, not just the cases
Upload your casebook chapters, lecture notes or an outline as PDF, Word, text or Markdown. Lessons cite their pages, so you can return to the source. Key terms and rules become flashcards that return on a spaced schedule.
In the recall pass the highlighted terms are hidden and you type them: elements of a tort, the test from a leading case, the requirements of a valid contract.
Type to learn the wording
Type mode puts the lesson on an index card and you type over it, with accuracy shown. For statutory language and tests where wording matters, typing makes you attend to every word.
Practise issue spotting and structured answers
Q&A gives exam-style questions with model answers to type until you can write them from memory. Typed answers in quizzes and in the final exam are graded by AI against key points, for meaning rather than exact wording, with feedback on each answer.
It checks whether you hit the key points. It is not a substitute for feedback from your tutor on how well you argue and apply the law.
Jurisdiction and bar exams
The AI works from the sources you give it, so use your own jurisdiction's materials. For bar preparation, see our bar exam page. Type to Study does not contain bar questions or legal databases, and it is not a source of legal advice.
